07/10/2024 - UPDATE - My foster mom says I am really coming out of my shell. My house training is going well and I am spending less time hanging out in my crate. I am very playful and LOVE playing ball. I even roll the balls around with my paws and chase them. I can even pick it up with my mouth and toss it around. I am a quick learner. I have almost mastered "sit" and "lay down." My foster mom is still working on leash training with me. 06/27/2024 - UPDATE - I have been in a foster home for a little over a week. My foster parents say that I am really sweet, but I am still very timid and spend most of my time hanging out in my crate. Although, I am making progress. The other day, I walked out of my crate and rolled over for belly rubs! It was great! I have had only one accident in the house so far so my potty training is really going well. My foster parents don't even close the door on the crate, but it is my safe space so I do go hang out there. My foster parents are teaching me how to walk on a leash, but right now, I still like to pull. I do not like other dogs and should be the only dog in the house. My foster parents have dogs, and I really don't like them so they keep us separated. I can't wait to find my new forever home where I am treated like the princess of the palace. Can you help? MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Blossom, and I just arrived at CSAC. I was rescued from a puppy mill. I am scared because I have not been around a lot of people or lived in a home as a pet. I have spent my life in a barn, a shed or a cage. The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. I will need time to trust people who want what is best for me and are not going to hurt me. That is something I have not experienced so far in my life. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will help me to understand that I am a cherished family pet, not just an animal to be used to make money. Are you ready to help me blossom into a new dog this spring? For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator.

Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen.
